Knaresborough

At the opposite end of the station and completing the attractive period group of buildings, is the rather curious five-sided signal box (Built in 1873, now Grade II listed). It has been built onto the end of a row of houses, at right angles to the level crossing. Built in local stone, it has a hipped roof. One side of the signal box looks out across Knaresborough Viaduct that spans the dramatic gorge of the River Nidd on four 57 ft. semi-circular arches, each 78 ft. high
