The Settle - Carlisle Railway CD-ROM from NVM Digital continues in popularity. It contains lots of pictures, features about the railway and its history, articles about nearby villages and towns, and lots more besides. We've put tons of work into this project, and we hope that you will like it! Our new enhanced version is now available - More photos, new panoramas etc. and many locations have been re-photographed. We now also have a new Settle - Carlisle CD-ROM titled "Historic Photos of the Settle -Carlisle Railway", a compilation of images taken from a collection of Victorian Stereo photographs which were taken during the building of the line. And if that's not enough, now released are our latest updates on the Settle-Carlisle Railway, entitled "The Settle to Carlisle Railway in the Third Millennium" and "The Northern Years". As a diversion away from the S & C we also have a new CD-ROM title 'Knaresborough to York - A line to remember' - a study of a delightful stretch of semaphore-signalled railway. |

The risk-free way to try Linux is with a 'Live' Linux CD-ROM. Just start up your machine with the CD in your drive and in a minute or two you will be running Linux completely from the CD and memory. It doesn't load files onto your hard drive or affect your MS Windows installation in any way. In no time at all you'll be absolutely sold on it and wanting to do a full Linux installation such as OpenSuse Linux, Fedora Linux or Ubuntu etc. (These complete packages are called' distributions' or 'distros'). We really recommend that you give one of these live discs a try ! If nothing else it makes you realise that there really are other options besides MS Windows. |
